Robert Thomson at the double for Morton
Posted Sunday, November 26, 2017 by PA
Robert Thomson scored twice as Morton punished a poor Falkirk side 3-0 in their own stadium.
Gary Harkins' early penalty put the Greenock club on a course to end a four-game winless run while at full-time Falkirk remained without a victory at home this term.
They have won only once in 14 Ladbrokes Championship matches and sit in ninth place.
The growing frustration felt by Paul Hartley's men worsened on Saturday when Harkins tucked away his spot-kick after it had been saved by Derek Gaston in the ninth minute.
James Craigen and Mark Kerr came close to equalising for the Bairns before Thomson doubled Morton's lead by heading home from a corner two minutes before the break.
Falkirk looked a little brighter after the restart but, in the 65th minute, Thomson killed the game off with a third goal after being put through by Harkins.
