Hakeeb Adelakun sends Scunthorpe through to FA Cup second round

A moment of first-half magic from Hakeeb Adelakun earned Scunthorpe a 1-0 FA Cup victory over Northampton.
The winger struck what proved to be the game's only goal in the 33rd minute - creating himself space through a brilliant turn of pace before rifling an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net.
The first game between these two League One rivals had been a turgid goalless draw. The Iron were the better side for long spells of the replay, but could not turn their dominance into more goals.
Northampton were grateful to goalkeeper David Cornell for having gone in at the break only one behind.
He had kept out another well-struck shot from Adelakun moments before the hosts went ahead and then reacted well to push away a long-range strike from Funso Ojo, hit with venom from the edge of the box.
Northampton were better in the second half, but a tricky run and shot by substitute Billy Waters and a tame header from Sam Foley, both of which were held by Matt Gilks, were the best they could muster, as the Iron set up a second-round trip to Doncaster Rovers.
