Real Madrid have long harboured hopes of signing De Gea, despite seeing a deal fall through two years ago.

The Manchester United star does, however, remain on their agenda despite the fine form of Keylor Navas.

Real are expected to try and sign the Spain international once again at the end of the season, with the player's contract at Old Trafford expiring in 2019.

And Diario Gol say Isco's wish to see De Gea join Real Madrid has not gone down well in the dressing room.

It is said the playmaker is doing everything to convince his compatriot to leave United at the end of the season.

And it is said to be working, with De Gea gushing over the prospect of playing for Zinedine Zidane.

But Diario Gol say members of Real's squad are unimpressed.

They think that his desire to see De Gea join is a stab in the back for current No1 Navas.

Few had heard of Navas when he excelled at the 2014 World Cup with Costa Rica, helping them make the quarter-finals against all odds.

But the 30-year-old is now a household name after helping them win the Champions League twice, as well as La Liga.

Meanwhile, Real have been urged to stick with Navas by the Costa Rican FA president Rodolfo Villalobos.

"I think that Navas has been surrounded by rumours ever since he arrived at Real Madrid,” he told Marca.

"At Real Madrid he has been a fundamental part of the titles the club has won.

"He has demonstrated that he deserves to be at Real Madrid.

"If Navas were to leave, Real Madrid would lose more than he would. He is writing his own story at Real Madrid and we hope that he stays there for many years."
