Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp reveals Sadio Mane could feature against West Ham
Sadio Mane resumed training on Thursday following a hamstring injury

Liverpool’s Senegal star resumed training on Thursday following a hamstring injury picked up during the last international break.

It was thought that having returned from injury two weeks ahead of schedule Mane would not be risked for the trip to London.

But the 25-year-old has handed boss Jurgen Klopp a major late boost by proving his sharpness on the training pitch.

And Klopp confirmed the influential winger will come into his thinking for a cameo role against the Hammers.

"Sadio trained the first time with the team, and looked really, really good,” Klopp said.

"It looked like he was ready for 20-25 minutes but we have to wait to see how his body reacts to the session.

"Obviously he has not lost his ability and skills in the injury break so that is good.”

Mane’s attacking presence will be even more important for Liverpool given Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho will miss out again with an abductor problem.

The Reds will give a fitness test to midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who is struggling with an ankle injury.

Klopp also revealed there is still no timescale on when defender Nathaniel Clyne will be available following another injury setback.

The England right-back, 26, has not featured at all this season because of a back problem.

"You cannot rush it,” said Klopp. “He was in a good way, running and with intensity, stuff like this. But the muscle showed a little reaction.

Jurgen Klopp also revealed he does not know when Nathaniel Clyne will return

"That was not an injury, and usually with a healthy and fit player you wouldn’t even think about it.

"But in his case because it was a little sign of the back, we took him out and it’s a few steps back again.”

Meanwhile, Klopp has told his players to ignore social media criticism and only listen to him.

Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren was rocked by an online death threat following some dodgy displays.

But Klopp said: “No other opinion is important,” Klopp said. “That does not mean I am always 100 per cent right, but mine is the only important one.”
