Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba "has everything" to lead France to glory at next summer's World Cup, according to Claude Makelele.
Should they achieve qualification for the finals in Russia, Les Bleus are likely to be installed as one of the tournament favourites given the strength and depth of their squad.
In central midfield, Didier Deschamps is spoilt for choice as he has the likes of N'Golo Kante, Corentin Tolisso, Adrien Rabiot and Pogba – and many more – to call upon and Makelele is tipping the latter to have a big impact for the national team.
"I think that now Pogba understands the responsibility that he has when with the national team," Makelele told Goal.
"I told him when I met him that he can take on the responsibility [of helping France win honours] because he is a great player. He has everything.
"He is tall, with great technique, he can score goals, he gets assists – he has everything. He shouldn't be scared and he should just do the job."
After an indifferent first season back in England following his then world record transfer from Juventus, Pogba has begun the current campaign in impressive fashion for the Red Devils.
Two goals as well as an assist in his first three Premier League games has suggested he'll repay the £89m price-tag this year as he attempts to help Jose Mourinho's side mount a serious title challenge and help progress into the latter stages of the Champions League.
