Cristiano Ronaldo is calm

Distinctions, rewards and respect from friends and foes...personal issues aside, Cristiano Ronaldo knows that he is in the best possible place to reach certain goals before Lionel Messi, something that a couple of years ago seemed impossible.

In the last year and a half, he has won seven titles and 'The Best,' a Ballon d'Or and two UEFA awards.

Madrid has given him everything and knows it.

In fact, Ronaldo believes that by January he will have left Messi behind because he will have equalled him in Ballon d'Or's, but has already surpassed him in UEFA prizes.

His museum in Madeira will also by then have its second 'The Best' award from FIFA.

In addition, the endless list of titles achieved puts him in the position of boasting of achievements that no one has on the planet.

He wants more and that can only be done at Madrid.

The place to be

Ronaldo had a more than complicated summer, which is not over yet.

His has been in despair, but the days pass and that idea goes as it came, without a trace.

Yes, he publicly demonstrates an ambition to continue winning, but any doubts are cleared with the same sentence: "What better than in Madrid."

The striker feels persecuted, but knows that he will not find a better place to fight for that.

His body is responding as good as at any tim in the last three years, and Ronaldo is starting the season close to full fitness.

He will be able to repeat what he did during the final stretch of the last campaign and for this he needs his team.

"I do not touch"

Although Neymar is now the best paid player in the world, Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, confirmed on Friday to MARCA, that, for the moment, he does not intend to speak with Madrid about this.

"I do not touch [any contract renewal]," he affirmed via a phone call.
