Notts County missed the chance to move top of Sky Bet League Two after a 2-2 draw with 10-man Accrington at Meadow Lane.
Jon Stead scored the only goal of an otherwise uneventful first half when he netted from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute after Seamus Conneely barged into him.
Jorge Grant doubled the hosts' lead in the 53rd minute as he finished off a flowing move with a crisp 20-yard drive.
Mark Hughes looped a volley in five minutes later to make it 2-1 before Stead hit the crossbar with a header.
Accrington's Mekhi McLeod had only been on the pitch for eight minutes when he was sent off for thundering into Ryan Yates in front of referee Carl Boyeson.
Yates, Grant and Terry Hawkridge all went close for County, before Stanley's Ben Richards-Everton was stretchered off late on.
Notts County's Matt Tootle was dismissed in the nine minutes of stoppage time for a second booking before loanee Mallik Wilks netted on his debut to snatch a point.
