Arsenal duo Ozil and Xhaka top ranking for most passes in the final third in the Premier League so far this season

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has completed the most passes in the final third in the Premier League so far this season, with his team-mate Granit Xhaka in second place in that regard.
Ozil has played 91 passes in the final third across Arsenal's first two games of the campaign, while Xhaka has played 59 such passes.
Meanwhile, Manchester City star David Silva is in third place having played just one fewer pass in the final third than Xhaka.
Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen, who is looking to continue the fine form he showed in the second half of last season, is in fourth place having played 55 passes in the final third.
Despite coming out on top in this metric, Ozil has received a considerable amount of criticism for his displays this season, especially last weekend as the Gunners fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Stoke City, with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard describing the German as a "liability" off the ball, with Wenger later defending his playmaker against the comments in his post-match press conference.
