Tottenham beat Juventus at Wembley friendly as Liverpool win in Dublin

Tottenham finished their preseason slate with an impressive 2-0 win over Juventus at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

If the attendance of 26,251 -- under a third of Wembley's capacity -- was embarrassing for Spurs, their performance was not as Harry Kane headed in Kevin Trippier's pinpoint cross past Gianluigi Buffon from seven yards.

Moussa Sissoko and Kane hit the woodwork either side of Christian Eriksen's goal on 50 minutes, collecting Dele Alli's through ball and leaving Buffon sprawling as he rounded the legendary goalkeeper.

Trippier, Spurs' only senior right-back, left the stadium on crutches after a pair of bad tackles, but coach Mauricio Pochettino said afterward that "We hope that it is not a big issue."

Liverpool eased to a 3-1 win over their La Liga opponent in Ireland.

Liverpool concluded a fine preseason by beating Athletic Bilbao 3-1 in Dublin.

Second-half goals from Ben Woodburn and Dominic Solanke proved to be the difference at the Aviva Stadium after Inaki Williams cancelled out Roberto Firmino's opener from the penalty spot in the first half.

Liverpool's summer has seen them travel to Hong Kong, Germany and Ireland, losing only one of eight friendlies throughout July and August.

Stoke City benefitted from an own goal to steal a 2-1 win away to RB Leipzig.

Last season's Bundesliga runners-up took a fifth minute lead after Jack Butland conceded a penalty that Emil Forsberg created, but Mame Diouf equalised following a corner just before the break.

But on 78 minutes, Leipzig's Marvin Compper headed a seemingly harmless cross up and over his own goalkeeper.

Christian Benteke scored an equaliser as Crystal Palace and Schalke drew 1-1.

Pablo Insua's header had put the German side ahead before the break, before Benteke headed in a rebound.

Jack Stephens put Southampton ahead before Manolo Gabbiadini added a second late on in a 2-0 win over Sevilla.

Swansea City romped to a 4-0 win over Sampdoria as Leroy Fer, Tammy Abraham and Federico Fernandez scored to go along with a Ricardo Alvarez own goal.

Jake Livermore was sent off in the first half as West Brom fell 2-0 to Deportivo La Coruna, while Watford and Real Sociedad shared a goalles draw.

Burnley's friendly with Hannover was called off following supporter violence on the advice of police.
