Manchester United are in the market for a new midfielder this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad for the upcoming season.

The likes of Tottenham's Eric Dier, Radja Nainggolan of Roma and Chelsea's Nemanja Matic have all been linked with moves to Old Trafford.

But the Red Devils are said to have grown frustrated in their pursuits, with reports surfacing today suggesting they've now turned their attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Vidal.

And bookmakers Betfair have responded by pricing United as 10/1 favourites to sign the Chile international before the summer window shuts.

Vidal came close to signing for United three years ago when Louis van Gaal replaced David Moyes at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old is at 13/1 to make a return to Juventus, where he spent four years before leaving for Bayern in 2015 for £25million.

But odds of 1/8 suggest Vidal will remain at the Allianz Arena this summer.

Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti today revealed he has no desire to sell Vidal as he considers him a vital part of his first-team plans.

"For Vidal, there is no way," the Italian said. "He's our player and I have a lot of confidence in him.

"I know there are rumours and we're used to rumours. He'll stay with us 100 per cent – I'm confident about that."
