Raul to join Zidane on Real Madrid tour from July 21

Real Madrid are sending a key entourage out to the United States on July 21 with Raul Gonzalez on the plane alongside Florentino Perez as the ex-striker starts his new job.

Formerly a LaLiga ambassador, Raul has left that role to learn the tricks of the trade at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, much like Zinedine Zidane did before him.

In that regard, Raul's official title at Real in the coming months is unknown as he will move between the different club departments, getting a taste for each before committing to one in the long-term.

It is thought that he prefers a coaching job but the 40-year-old missed the deadline for the latest RFEF licensing course, just completed by the likes of Fernando Redondo, and must wait until 2019 at the earliest for a chance in the dugout.

Raul won't be wasting away in the meantime, however, as club president Perez and CEO Jose Angel Sanchez take him under their wing and fly him to LA by their side on Friday.

Throughout the pre-season tour, the former forward is to stay with the team and begin his education, once again wearing the badge of Real Madrid.
