Edinson Cavani added two more goals to his season's haul as Paris St Germain cruised to a 5-0 win at St Etienne, but the Ligue 1 title is now effectively beyond their reach.

Cavani scored his 46th and 47th goals of the season, but an emphatic victory was not enough for PSG after Monaco all but sealed the title with a 4-0 home win against Lille.

PSG are three points behind with one game to play, and Monaco boost a far superior goal difference.

PSG made a flying start through leading marksman Cavani, who headed home Maxwell's cross in the second minute.

Blaise Matuidi fired just wide soon after for the visitors, who were then indebted to goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who pushed away Henri Saivet's goalbound shot at full stretch to keep his side in front.

Lille midfielder Jordan Veretout, on loan from Aston Villa, went close with a direct free-kick, but PSG doubled their lead in the 38th minute when Lucas Moura rifled the ball home after being played into the penalty area by Marco Verratti.

Cavani made sure of the points when he converted from close range in the 72nd minute and was denied a hat-trick when St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier kept out another point-blank effort soon after.

Ruffier produced further saves from Thomas Meunier and Draxler, but Lucas Moura pounced to steer home his second from the centre of the area with 12 minutes remaining.

PSG rounded off an emphatic win in the final minute when Draxler raced onto Giovani Lo Celso's through ball to make it 5-0.
