Man United boss Jose Mourinho to make huge bid for David De Gea replacement
Jose Mourinho wants to sign Jan Oblak as David De Gea's replacement

JOSE MOURINHO is pushing ahead with a £40 million deal to land Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak as he lines up David De Gea's replacement.

De Gea days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered with Real Madrid finally set to snare a player that they have targeted for the last two years.

The Slovenian international, 24, has developed into one of the best keepers in the world and Mourinho knows he will need a top class replacement for De Gea.

He will have noted how badly arch rivals Man City have struggled since they opted to dump England number one Joe Hart last summer.

Oblak has played a key role in helping Atletico book a place in the Champions League semi-finals and had been on Chelsea's wanted list if Real opted for Thibaut Courtois.

He is now set to join Manchester United who have had him watched on a regular basis as they admit defeat in their attempts to keep Spanish star De Gea from signing for The Galacticos.

Atletico would like to see Oblak stay but a hefty profit on the £12.6m that they paid for him three years ago will ease the pain of seeing him leave.
