Swindon vs Scunthorpe United - Swindon to check on Thompson before clash
Posted Friday, April 21, 2017 by PA
Swindon are sweating on the fitness of defender Nathan Thompson ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One game at home to Scunthorpe.
Thompson has missed the last two matches with a heel injury and will be given a late fitness test ahead of this weekend's match at the County Ground.
Jamie Sendles-White is a long-term absentee with ruptured knee ligaments but otherwise Luke Williams has a full squad to choose from.
Swindon are 22nd, three points adrift of safety, but have lost only one of their last five games.
Scunthorpe boss Graham Alexander has no new injury or suspension worries as his side bid to keep their outside automatic promotion hopes alive with victory.
Alexander, whose team secured their play-off place with Monday's home win against Chesterfield, are still without defender Jordan Clarke due to a toe injury.
Midfielder Matt Crooks remains sidelined with an ankle injury, while Alexander has hinted at one or two possible changes.
Strikers Craig Davies and Kevin van Veen, plus midfielder Sam Mantom are pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
