Shrewsbury Town vs Walsall - Shrewsbury's Abu Ogogo is a no-go against Walsall

Shrewsbury will be without midfielder Abu Ogogo because of a knee ligament injury as they look to pull clear of the Sky Bet League One relegation battle with victory over mid-table Walsall.

Ogogo, whose contract with the Shrews was extended by a further year this week, is unlikely to be fit to face the Saddlers but is close to a return to first-team action soon after recently returning to full training.

Manager Paul Hurst will be hopeful of having right-back Joe Riley available after he suffered a pelvis injury in the recent 2-1 defeat by Millwall.

On-loan forward Tyler Roberts has returned to West Brom for treatment on an injury but could be back with the Shrews before the end of the season if his recovery goes well.

Walsall could have top scorer Erhun Oztumer back from a knee injury after he returned to training this week but manager Jon Whitney will leave a decision over his fitness as late as possible.

On-loan Celtic centre-back Eoghan O'Connell has also returned to training following a hamstring injury and could come into contention to face Shrewsbury.

Midfielder Florent Cuvelier has recovered from a hamstring injury and adds to Whitney's selection options as Walsall look to climb the table with victory against opponents who lie just one point above the relegation zone.

Midfielder Reece Flanagan remains sidelined after dislocating his shoulder but there could be places in the squad for youngsters Mitch Candlin and Tobias Hayles-Docherty.
