Toni Martinez and Conor McAleny return to Oxford squad

Oxford will have loanees Toni Martinez and Conor McAleny back in their squad for their Sky Bet League One clash against third-placed Fleetwood.

Martinez and McAleny were both cup-tied for the U's agonising Checkatrade Trophy final defeat against Coventry last weekend but the two strikers are set to feature.

Fellow forward Kane Hemmings will hope to keep his place in the starting line-up while midfielder Ryan Ledson started at Wembley after returning from international duty with England Under-20s and should retain a place in Michael Appleton's side.

Appleton could also hand a starting berth to midfielder Liam Sercombe after scoring off the bench against the Sky Blues.

Fleetwood striker Wes Burns could make his first start since returning from an ankle injury.

Burns came off the bench during Fleetwood's 1-0 home defeat against Swindon - his first appearance since suffering injury against Rochdale in February. But with fellow forward Devante Cole (groin) doubtful for the trip, boss Uwe Rosler could start their January transfer window signing from Bristol City.

Bobby Grant is also vying for a place up front while Cameron Brannagan, Markus Schwabl and Godswill Ekpolo are all pushing for starts after being dropped last weekend.

Midfielder Jimmy Ryan remains sidelined with a foot injury.
