There were no great statements or howls of anxiety from Lionel Messi on Wednesday night as he arrived back in Catalonia following a typically newsworthy spell with Argentina.

Following a four-game ban for insulting a linesman, the Barcelona man touched down ahead of the Azulgrana's game against Granada on Sunday, with Luis Enrique expecting him back in training 72 hours ahead of kick-off.

Multiple journalists lined up after Messi touched down from his flight, but his was a picture of silence as he jumped into a taxi and headed for home.
