7M - 4 reasons Chelsea could win Premier League title

Head coach

Who is the happiest coach in the Premier League this season? The answer is Antonio Conte undoubtedly.

At the beginning of season, Chelsea were not looked upon favorably. It was Conte who took on this difficult task and led the struggling team to get out of trouble. Then the Blues improved leaps and bounds and now are 10 points clear at the top of the table. They are also the biggest favorites for the champion of Premier League this season. Conte's 3-4-3 squad brings Chelsea a splendid season.

Even so, Conte admits he fears he could be sacked. He said, 'I think in this type of modern football, it’s not easy to start a project and to be sure you will stay a long time in the same team. But honestly not only for me, for all coaches.'

'If you have the possibility to stay for many years in the same team, then you can work to improve your idea, to improve your players, but the result in football is very important.'

'We all know this, and we know it can happen, that one season, you can win the title, the next season you can go away.’ Exactly, short-term result is more important than contribution for a coach.

Reportedly, Chelsea have extended the contract with Conte as a prize for their performance this season. The 47-year-old's new deal will now run until 2020.

Defense

In Chelsea's squad, the most eye catching player is major defender David Luiz, not scorers Willian or Diego Costa.

Luiz has been in stable condition since this season when head coach playing three-man defense. He becomes an anchor back there. More and more stable performances make him the role of leader in the squad, although he isn't the captain of Chelsea. What's more, he has a very good relationship with other teammates off the pitch.

Roman Abramovich(owner) spent only 24m pounds on the three-man defense, including David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Caesar Azpilicueta, much cheaper than other super stars. However, such cheap signings supported the whole squad on the way to the championship of Premier League.

Midfield

Ngolo Kante continued a hugely impressive season in Stamford Bridge Stadium. Many rivals began to cover him one-on-one most of the game.  Since his arrival in Chelsea last summer, Kante played a major part in midfield's defense. Under the formation of 3-4-3, Kante is firmly a first-choice player, no matter working with Cesc Fabregas or Nemanja Matic. His existence set a solid foundation for Conte's team. And the 25-year-old midfielder is widely credited in Chelsea's splendid season.

Attack

How to describe Chelsea's style, defensive or offensive?  In fact, the Italian coach has said earlier that Chelsea are trying to maintain the balance between defensive stability and offensive output, so he changed to a 3-4-3 shape for the squad.

Manchester City and Liverpool are both sharp on attack, but they have invested too much there, which makes them lose balance in two ends. And that's why they dropped off the title race gradually.

Conte could well be celebrating the Premier League title in his maiden campaign if they can maintain this balance. Their 3-4-3 formation could be highly praised almost as the first spell when Mourinho coaching in Chelsea.
