'Neymar is the greatest actor in football' - Barcelona forward slammed by Lustig

Barcelona forward Neymar has been branded "the greatest actor in football" by Celtic defender Mikael Lustig.

The Brazilian has turned his hand to acting in the past, with a cameo appearance made in the Vin Diesel movie xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

He is unlikely to be winning any awards for his performance on the silver screen, but his exploits on the football field have earned him plenty of admirers.

Neymar is widely considered to be leading contender for future Ballon d'Or prizes, while his trophy cabinet should remain well stocked for as long as he is at Camp Nou.

Not everybody is a fan of the Samba star, though, with his theatrics seeing him make as many enemies as friends.

Sweden international Lustig falls into the first of those categories, with the no-nonsense full-back less than impressed by Neymar's antics during a Champions League clash with Celtic in November 2016.

Reflecting on that night, Lustig told reporters while on international duty: "He always falls very light, you can barely touch him. Neymar is the greatest actor in football."

While frustrated at seeing the 25-year-old go to ground too easily, Lustig admits that opponents are often forced into adopting a strong-arm approach in an effort to level the playing field with one of the world's best.

He added: "Neymar is better than me, so to compete you try to be close and sometimes you need to do tricks and get into his head to guess what he will do."

Neymar drew a blank in the aforementioned European contest at Celtic Park, but Barcelona emerged as 2-0 victors and have progressed to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League thanks in no small part to the contribution of their Brazilian forward in a remarkable 6-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16.
