The Englishman scored a stunner in the 20th minute to give Spurs the lead against Everton at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Using his strength to hold off the defender, he turned inside and from 30 yards out belted the ball into the bottom corner past Robles in goal.

It was a fine strike that brought his tally to 18 for the season in the league – and he celebrated with Spurs and England teammate Dele Alli.

But it was not your usual hugs and highfives.

Spurs duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli celebrated with a bizarre handshake

Instead the two exchanged a bizarre and complicated handshake that was caught on camera – which you can see above.

And Twitter users were less than impressed with the effort.

"I trust @SpursOfficial will call for an immediate and independent investigation into the Kane/Alli goal celebration handshake?” wrote one.

Another added: “Let's hope the FA sort out the mess out this weekend and retrospectively give Kane and Alli a 3 match ban for that pathetic handshake thing.”

Kane added another – his 19th in the Premier League – on 60 minutes as Spurs looked set to see out a comfortable win.

But a goal from Romelu Lukaku in the 81st minute set up a grandstand finish that saw both teams score from free kicks in added time in a frantic two minutes.

Spurs were able to hang on to cut the gap on leaders Chelsea to seven points ahead of the Blues’ clash with West Ham at the London Stadium tomorrow night.

Hammers keeper Darren Randolph told Daily Star Online what his team needed to do to beat the league leaders.
