Rumour: Leicester City meet Roy Hodgson as owner eyes long-term Claudio Ranieri replacement

Roy Hodgson has reportedly been approached by Leicester City, as the reigning Premier League champions aim to fill their vacant manager's position.
Owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha dismissed title-winning coach Claudio Ranieri last Thursday, sparking an outpouring of sympathy from the football world, and a large amount of dismay from Foxes fans.
Amid claims that Ranieri had 'lost the dressing room', Leicester's star players bounced back in superb style on Monday evening, with a 3-1 home win over Liverpool.
Caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare oversaw that victory, which took the Foxes out of the relegation zone, with a new appointment seemingly far from imminent.
According to the Daily Mail, Shakespeare is set to take charge of this weekend's crunch clash against Hull City, and a strong display could see him remain in the hot-seat until the summer.
Hodgson, who has been out of work since England's embarrassing Euro 2016 exit to Iceland, is a long-term target and has already held preliminary talks with the Foxes, the source suggests.
The 69-year-old is yet to be convinced that Leicester is the right move for him, the report claims, while Srivaddhanaprabha's wish to hire Hodgson clashes with the thoughts of Director of Football Jon Rudkin.
While the search continues, Leicester are in 15th position in the Premier League table, with 12 rounds of the campaign remaining.
