Cavani and Suarez go head to head

Plenty of interesting match-ups will make Barcelona's last-16 tie with Paris Saint-Germain a real spectacle on Tuesday night and Luis Suarez coming up against Edinson Cavani is perhaps the best of the lot.

Both players currently sit as their division's respective top scorers with Cavani setting the pace for the entire continent on 25 league goals.

That tally extends to 33 if including the French Cup and Champions League, where the Uruguayan will face his countryman for a place in the quarter-finals.

Slightly behind the PSG frontman, Suarez can nonetheless boast 25 goals in all competitions this season with 18 in LaLiga making him the outstanding candidate for yet another Pichichi award.

It was the ex-Liverpool hitman who won the day for his side in their knockout meeting two years ago, notching twice as Barcelona went on to win the trophy in Berlin having sent Les Parisiens packing in the quarters.

However this time around history will mean very little, and even when taken into account it's clear that little can split the vibrant duo; Cavani managing an immense 114 goals for PSG in the same time that Suarez has accumulated 109 in the Blaugrana colours.
