Determined Klopp sets lofty Reds targets
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has once again shouldered the blame for his side's recent loss of form, before challenging his players to go unbeaten in the remainder of the Premier League season.

The Reds' have struggled to impose themselves on matches so far in 2017, winning just once in 10 matches as they were knocked out of both domestic cup competitions as well as dropping from second to fifth on the Premier League standings.

The lack of leadership in his squad and the inability to convince the right players to move to Merseyside has been touted as reasons for their recent slump.

However, speaking to the media before Saturday's key Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, Klopp insisted that he is the only one who deserves criticism for the way in which the Reds perform.

"In my understanding, the manager has to be the main leader in a football team. I am the guy who is responsible. It is down to me," he said.

"It doesn’t mean I sit at home and criticise myself or take a bath in self-pity or something like this but I did the things I have done because I thought they were right.

"The fact is that the boys are still really, really good players. I am still an absolutely ok manager and that didn’t change because of a few bad results.

"If anyone criticises the players? Yeah. That is ok. That is our life. I’m sure a lot of people will have criticised me, too. That is absolutely fine as long as there is a point in the week where you think ‘OK! Let’s go again!’.

"In my dreams we can win 14 games. We have 14 games and it is possible to win all of them. I don’t have to think it is possible, it is possible – that’s how football is.

"The players know that because I told them and they heard me."
