Swindon's new signing Jesse Starkey could make his debut against Oxford in Sunday's Sky Bet League One match.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the club on an 18-month deal from Brighton whilst Rohan Ince also made the switch from the Seagulls on loan.
Striker Jonathan Obika has been training after suffering a knock but Brad Barry remains unavailable due to an ankle injury.
Nicky Ajose, who joined Swindon on loan from Charlton, is also looking for his first start in his third spell for the club.
Oxford boss Michael Appleton could stick with the same side who stunned Sky Bet Championship high-flyers Newcastle in the FA Cup fourth round.
West Ham loanee Toni Martinez scored 17 minutes after coming off the bench in that game and is pushing for a start while recent signing Conor McAleny, who joined the U's on loan from Everton this week, may feature.
Defensive duo Christian Ribeiro and Sam Long are still lacking match-fitness after both returned to first-team training.
The U's will also be without Alex MacDonald and Ryan Taylor after both players left the club having joined Mansfield and Plymouth respectively.
