Olympique Lyonnais are interested in bringing Juventus full-back Patrice Evra back to Ligue 1, after the veteran defender announced his intention to leave Turin.
Reports in French newspaper L'Equipe claim Evra is now considering remaining at the Italian giants until the end of the season and sign for Lyon on a free transfer when his contract expires.
It was believed that the 35-year-old was keen on a player-coach role at former club Manchester United but after receiving only two concrete offers after stating his desire to play first-team football, the France international was left disappointed by offers from China and Crystal Palace.
However, the French publication claim a move to the ambitious seven-time Ligue 1 winners, who recently signed Memphis Depay from the Red Devils could way Evra for a surprise move back to his native country.
Lyon are currently in fourth place in the league 12 points behind first placed OGC Nice.
