Caretaker manager Sam Collins will be in the dugout for Hartlepool's Sky Bet League Two clash with Stevenage as new manager Dave Jones prepares to take up the reins on Monday.

Collins will be without goalkeeper Trevor Carson, who was due to undergo shoulder surgery on Friday and is set miss the majority of the remainder of the season.

However, the Pools boss is hopeful of having striker Padraig Amond available following treatment on his own shoulder problem.

Full-back Carl Magnay (knee) and midfielder Nathan Thomas (groin) are both working their way back towards full fitness, but defender Rob Jones (knee) is still sidelined.

New signing Josh McQuoid is likely to be included in the Stevenage squad for the trip.

The midfielder joined Boro on Thursday on loan from Luton and is available for Darren Sarll's side.

Striker Ryan Loft, who joined on loan from Premier League side Tottenham, is pushing for a start as Starll has no new injury concerns.

Tom Conlon remains on the casualty list due to a knee injury as Stevenage look to end a run of just one win in their last five league games.
