Barnsley vs Leeds United - Tykes hope Marc Roberts will recover in time for Leeds clash

Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom hopes defender Marc Roberts will be fit to face Leeds as the Reds look to put their FA Cup exit firmly behind them.

Roberts, who has been attracting the interest of Premier League clubs in the transfer window, limped off after just 29 minutes of Tuesday's defeat to Blackpool with a hip injury.

That could mean an instant place in the side for new signing Gethin Jones, the Wales Under-21 international who has joined the club on loan from Everton until the end of the season.

Andy Yiadom is unavailable as he competes for Ghana in the African Nations Cup, while striker Sam Winnall was sold to Sheffield Wednesday last week.

Leeds manager Garry Monk has no new injury worries as his side look to continue their impressive run of form at Oakwell.

Pontus Jansson serves the final game of his two-match ban, while Charlie Taylor remains unavailable due to the hamstring injury he suffered before Christmas.

However, the defender has been told he is on the right track after seeing a specialist and Monk hopes he will be able to resume full training in the near future.

Monk is also optimistic that Liam Cooper will be fit to feature against Barnsley after suffering a leg injury in the FA Cup win over Cambridge.
