FIFA fans are slamming EA for something they changed in the latest update

FIFA 17 recently received its fourth update - but something isn't proving too popular with fans.

One of the changes EA introduced was to "adjust the defensive line position for low pressure tactics".

Only, it seems to be causing total chaos.

Gamers are reporting that defensive organisation is now "all over the place" and players are constantly "caught flat footed".

One angry gamer created a sub-Reddit, titled "WTF EA". He writes: "What is going on with the defensive positioning post patch?

"They are constantly caught flat footed and defenders with higher attacking workrates are bombing up the field with no sense of tactical awareness.

"Pace will now be the biggest factor on offense and defense as more people will play long balls and only fast defenders can recover.

"The nerf to assisted AI would've been welcome if they boosted manual interceptions and had realistic loose ball physics instead of this magnetised bs. Unfortunately, it's not the case."

The EA update was a response to feedback that AI "on the ball" was far too strong.

CPU-controlled players would make tackles and do a lot of the work, even if they weren't commanded to do so.

But this seems to have come at a cost of "off the ball defending" - with AI controlled players now more easily caught out of position.

One gamer wrote: "I agree with tuning down the ai defending during 'on the ball' situations.

"The problem is that 'off the ball' ai marking is awful now and manual interceptions are still poor… making it very easy for the offence to pass it around even if you read the play and play good defense."

The update has proved popular with some gamers - especially those who prefer an all-out attacking playstyle.

"I'm loving it, I tend to run at defenses and I've been on a good run of form thanks to this," said one gamer.

"Same; absolutely dominant in matches and yet to loose! Honestly think this punishes those who sit deep, as it should," said another.
