CHELSEA are plotting a £75million move for unhappy Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller to replace Diego Costa.

Muller, 27, has struggled to hold down a regular first team place under Carlo Ancelotti this season and has admitted that he is unhappy.

The World Cup winner has only scored once in the Bundesliga this season compared with the 20 that he got last season under Pep Guardiola.

He found himself dropped for a top-of-the table clash with RB Leipzig before German football went into their winter break.

It has alerted both Manchester clubs United and City and now Chelsea who dropped Costa for yesterday's clash with Leicester City.

Costa the Premier League's leading scorer who is trying to push through a £30million a year move to Tianjin Quanjian had a training ground row with Antonio Conte.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is adamant that the Spanish international isn't for sale even for the £80million that are Quanjian willing to pay.

But Costa's agent Jorge Mendes is currently in China looking to engineer a move with Quanjian chairman Shu Yuhui determined that he gets his man.

It has led to frantic moves behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge to start a desperate search for a replacement.

Chelsea know that their bid to win the Premier League title is at stake as Costa is their man goalscoring threat has scored 14 goals in 19 starts this season.

Muller could be the answer to their problems especially since things have turned sour for him with Bayern this season.
