Ben Marshall will be missing when Blackburn welcome Huddersfield to Ewood Park.

The midfielder has been booked on five occasions this term and will serve a one-match suspension as a result, though Rovers manager Owen Coyle has better news elsewhere on the injury front.

Centre-back Gordon Greer (leg) and central midfielder Danny Guthrie (knock) both returned to full training on Thursday and have a shot at featuring in the squad.

Sam Gallagher and Darragh Lenihan have missed training time with knocks this week, though both are expected to feature, while Adam Henley (hamstring) has suffered a setback and Tommie Hoban (shoulder) and Elliott Ward (ankle) remain out.

Huddersfield will be without skipper Mark Hudson, winger Sean Scannell and suspended defender Tommy Smith.

Centre-half Hudson was forced out of Monday night's home defeat with a hamstring problem befgre Scannell sustained an ankle injury, while Smith sits out a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards.

Martin Cranie will return to the heart of defence, while midfielder Jack Payne remains doubtful due to the knee injury he recently sustained in training.

Fit-again forward Harry Bunn (hamstring) is pushing for a recall after returning as an unused substitute against Wigan, but winger Joe Lolley (foot) is not expected back until January.
