Charlton Athletic vs Sheffield United - Karl Robinson to watch from the stands

Posted Friday, November 25, 2016 by PA

New Charlton boss Karl Robinson is expected to watch from the stands as the Addicks welcome Sheffield United to The Valley.

Robinson was appointed as Russell Slade's replacement on Thursday but caretaker boss Kevin Nugent remains at the helm for the Sky Bet League One meeting with the Blades.

Nugent has overseen two wins from two and will be hoping that defender Chris Solly will be fit following a knee injury.

Winger Ricky Holmes (foot) and midfielder Ahmed Kashi (Achilles) remain sidelined.

Sheffield United could be boosted by the return to contention of both Mark Duffy and Kieron Freeman.

Winger Duffy and midfielder Freeman both missed the midweek home win against Bury due to respective calf and back injuries sustained in last week's victory over Shrewsbury.

Midfielder Paul Coutts overcame a leg injury to play the full 90 minutes against Bury and is likely to continue, but boss Chris Wilder has other options.

Caolan Lavery is still waiting for his first Blades start, while Harry Chapman, Chris Hussey and Leon Clarke are among those pushing for recalls.
