Cambridge United vs Cheltenham Town - Injury concerns for Cambridge boss Shaun Derry

Posted Friday, November 25, 2016 by PA

Cambridge manager Shaun Derry has a number of injury concerns to contend with for the visit of Cheltenham.

Medy Elito will be unavailable due to a knee problem and Conor Newton faces a late fitness test on a tight hamstring.

Adam McGurk is still recovering from a torn thigh but whilst Derry is optimistic there is "light at the end of the tunnel", he does not want to rush him back into the squad.

Josh Coulson, who was stretchered off in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Wycombe, may need an operation on his ankle and Elliot Omozusi (foot) and Barry Corr (knee) remain long-term absentees.

Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson may make several changes to his starting line-up following the 3-0 home defeat to Colchester on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Harry Pell is suspended after being sent off in that loss, while Johnson took off Kyle Storer and Dan Holman citing tiredness after the recent run.

Johnson does have captain Aaron Downes available after he served a one-match ban for a fifth yellow card.

The likes of Danny Whitehead, Jack Munns and Koby Arthur will be hoping to step up from the bench if the Robins boss does opt to shuffle his pack.
