Struggling Blackburn have defensive problems for the visit of Brentford in the Sky Bet Championship.

Gordon Greer is doubtful with a leg injury while Scott Wharton, Tommie Hoban (shoulder) and Elliott Ward (ankle) are out and Wes Brown is short of match fitness after a knee problem.

Midfielder Charlie Mulgrew could play as an emergency defender but, on the plus side, full-back Derrick Williams has made a quicker than expected recovery from a hamstring injury.

Hope Akpan is suspended and there are also fitness doubts over fellow midfielder Danny Guthrie and forward Marvin Emnes.

Brentford will be without Lewis Macleod, who looks set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Fellow midfielder Alan McCormack is still suspended after being hit with a five-match ban for using abusive language towards a female match official.

Callum Elder is out with a knee problem, Rico Henry remains sidelined by a shoulder injury and Alan Judge is recovering from a broken leg.

But Bees boss Dean Smith has no new injury concerns as they bid to bounce back from the 2-0 derby defeat by Fulham last time out.
