Celta Vigo came from behind to beat Valencia 2-1 at Balaidos as the visitors slid further towards the drop zone.

Dani Parejo's penalty had put Valencia ahead after 33 minutes, but Facundo Roncaglia levelled just before the break and John Guidetti headed in the winner with 14 minutes remaining.

The result sees Celta move up to eighth, but Valencia are just one point above the drop zone with 10 points from 11 matches.

Valencia had made a positive start, with Nani's header saved.

They went ahead after David Costas brought down Rodrigo, as Parejo sent Ruben Blanco the wrong way from the spot.

Celta Vigo, though, were level after 43 minutes, when Roncaglia cut back inside from the right of the Valencia penalty area, before curling a left-foot shot into the far left corner past the outstretched arm of goalkeeper Diego Alves.

Nani again went close at the end of the first half when his shot from the left side of the penalty area was saved.

Celta Vigo pressed at the start of the second half, with Iago Aspas' header from a cross by Daniel Wass saved by Alves before Rodrigo shot wide.

They took the lead with a short-corner routine as Marcelo Diaz crossed to the penalty spot, where Guidetti met it with a diving header which bounced into the ground and up over Alves into the net.

Martn Montoya and substitute Munir El Haddadi both shot over the crossbar as Valencia looked for a way back into the match, but Celta Vigo hung on.
