Hamburger 2 - 5 Borussia Dortmund: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hits four as Borussia Dortmund hammer Hamburg

Borussia Dortmund heaped more misery on struggling Hamburg with a 5-2 win that saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang return from a club-imposed suspension emphatically with four goals.

Thomas Tuchel caused a stir in midweek when he left Aubameyang out of his squad for the Champions League tie with Sporting Lisbon, but it was only a 24-hour ban due to indiscipline and the Gabon international was back leading the Westphalians' front line in Hamburg.

It took him only three minutes to make his mark on the game too, turning in one of his easiest goals of the season after Rene Adler had only parried Emre Mor's effort.

He doubled Dortmund's lead midway through the first half when he benefited once again from Mor's pass - this time an intentional assist - to score another easy goal as Adler was taken out of the equation by the Turkish midfielder's pass.

Aubameyang completed his hat-trick four minutes later when Adler's clearance was headed back over the Hamburg defence by Marc Bartra, sending the Gabon forward through to score his ninth of the season.

Goal number 10 followed soon after half-time with Christian Pulisic this time the provider after some more poor defending in the Hamburg rearguard was punished ruthlessly.

Nicolai Muller gave Hamburg something to smile about, ending a 717-minute scoring drought for the northern Germany side with a goal which reduced the deficit to three.

Aubameyang turned provider to tee up Ousmane Dembele to restore Dortmund's four-goal lead with 15 minutes left, beating Adler in a one-on-one situation after the Hamburg defence was again opened up with ease.

Muller again restored a bit of pride for the hosts with his and their second of the game with a low shot from nearly 25 yards out.

It was scant consolation, however, for a Hamburg side who have yet to win this season and head into the international break propping up the rest of the Bundesliga.
