Real Madrid to renew Cristiano Ronaldo and three others within two weeks

Gareth Bale is unlikely to be the last Real Madrid player to have his contract renewed this year, given that the capital city club is working to finalise new deals for Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Isco and Dani Carvajal.

Los Blancos hope to have the new contracts signed within the next two weeks, but if they are not completed by the middle of November then the club will return to the negotiating table at the end of the season.

The Real hierarchy is keen for the quartet to remain at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and they are very close to finalising new terms for each of them, with just a few minor details yet to be sorted out in each case.

As one would expect, the renewal of Ronaldo is especially important, with the club keen to express their backing of the No.7 by adding a further two years to his current deal - which would take it up to 2020.

The renewal of the Portuguese star will also have a symbolic significance as it will demonstrate the trust the Real Madrid directors have in their star man.

For Pepe, it is also vital that his deal is extended given that the centre-back's current one runs out at the end of this season - but there remains some disagreement over the length of the extension.

Isco, meanwhile, could be the next, with his recent appearances in the starting XI helping to encourage the midfielder to commit to the club.

In the case of Carvajal the renewal has much to do with money as Los Blancos want to reward the right-back financially, at the same as pushing his contract's expiration date from 2020 to 2022.

These updates would simply be the latest in a long line of recent extensions, with Marco Asensio, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Lucas Vazquez, Keylor Navas and Bale also having signed on the dotted line since the start of the season.

Of those not mentioned above, only Karim Benzema and Fabio Coentrao have deals which expire before 2020.
