Pogba made three appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils before departing for Juventus.

Four years later United broke the world transfer record to bring him back to Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.

Raiola told the Financial Times that he met with Ferguson prior to Pogba's departure, but the manager refused to speak to him without Pogba present.

When Pogba entered, Ferguson asked: "You don't want to sign this contract?"

Pogba replied: "We're not going to sign this contract under these conditions."

The response reportedly infuriated Ferguson, who turned to Raiola and said: "You're a t***. What do you think he needs to earn?"

Raiola responded: "Not that," which led Ferguson to once again call the Dutch agent a t***.

Ferguson was scathing of football agents in his book 'Leading', and he explained how the bid to renew Pogba's contract fell through because of Raiola.

He wrote: "There are one or two football agents I simply do not like.

"And Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba's agent, is one of them.

"I distrusted him from the moment I met him. He became Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent while he was playing for Ajax, and eventually he would end up representing Pogba, who was only 18-years-old at the time.

"We had Paul under a three-year contract, and it had a one-year renewal option which we were eager to sign. But Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a fiasco.

"He and I were like oil and water. From then on, our goose was cooked because Raiola had been able to ingratiate himself with Paul and his family and the player signed with Juventus."

While Raiola was able to manufacture a move back to United, it was done over two years and amid offers from other top clubs.

"Look, Pogba could have gone to all the top clubs," said Raiola.

"But Real Madrid had just won the Champions League. He'd have been a trophy player there.

"Barcelona — their three trophies are Messi, Neymar and Suarez. What you see is the final result of years of sculpting. I spent two years working on Manchester United's deal with Paul."
