Members of Louis van Gaal's coaching team at Manchester United did not want to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to The Indepedent.
The Armenian joined United from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, but multiple Red Devils staff members had reservations about a player who has started only one Premier League match this season.
Jose Mourinho was the man to push through the acquisition, which makes the fact that the Portuguese has been so reluctant to use Mkhitaryan so far all the more puzzling.
