Borussia Dortmund believe Real Madrid are monitoring their head coach, Thomas Tuchel, according to CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Tuchel succeeded Jurgen Klopp as the Dortmund manager in 2015 and has caught the eye by overseeing some impressive results during his time in charge so far.
Zinedine Zidane guided Real Madrid to Champions League glory last season and is under contract at The Bernabeu until 2018, but there have been rumours of late that the Spanish side see Tuchel as the ideal option to manage the club in the long term.
Dortmund are bracing themselves for the possibility of Real attempting to convince Tuchel to join them.
"I think that Real Madrid has his eye on Thomas Tuchel. I have a very good relationship with Real Madrid," Watzke told German broadcaster ZDF.
Watze also commented on speculation linking Pierre-Emmerick Aubameyang with a move away, amid suggestions Madrid, Manchester City and Arsenal retain an interest.
He added: "We would like to keep [Aubameyang], but also the player has to be asked. It's also about which [interested] club comes forward."
Real have started the season well domestically- they have taken 18 points from their eight league games so far- but they may well feel that it would be to their benefit if they made an approach for Tuchel in the near future before one of Europe's best young coaches is lured elsewhere.
Dortmund, who have created 98 chances in the league this season, are currently in sixth place in the Bundesliga table.
