SC Freiburg 2 - 1 Augsburg: Freiburg into top 10 with fourth successive home win

Freiburg continued their impressive home form to climb into the top 10 of the Bundesliga with to a 2-1 win over Augsburg.

Maximilian Philipp gave the hosts a deserved lead midway through the second half, taking down Vincenzo Grifo's free-kick before poking a shot past Marwin Hitz into the far corner.

Nils Petersen doubled Freiburg's advantage in the 78th minute, converting Philipp's pass at the far post.

Augsburg reduced the arrears five minutes later through Halil Altintop and they might have snatched an equaliser late on only for Julian Gunter-Schmidt to waste a fine chance.

Freiburg have now won all four of their home Bundesliga matches this season, while losing all four of their away fixtures.
