Luis Suarez has confirmed that talks over a new "long deal" at Barcelona are at an advanced stage with the striker expecting to put pen to paper in the near future. Furthermore, the striker added that both sides are "in agreement" over a new deal.
Suarez has been phenomenal for Barcelona since signing for the Catalan club in 2014 for a reported £75 million with the forward scoring 62 La Liga goals in just over two seasons.
Last year the Uruguayan won the Golden Boot as his 40 league goals saw him named Europe's top goalscorer, which helped Barcelona to once again retain the Spanish top flight title.
Barcelona have already secured Javier Mascherano and Neymar to new deals at the Nou Camp recently and now Suarez has indicated that he will be the next player to agree new terms at Barcelona.
And an announcement could come sooner rather than later with the 29-year-old suggesting that talks between the club and his agents are at a very advanced stage.
Suarez told Sport 890: "They [the club and Suarez's representatives] are handling the renewal.
"It's really advanced and I can say it's on the right path. Both sides are in agreement and we're talking about a long deal."
