A video went viral over the weekend in England, as Manchester United’s Juan Mata was filmed engaging with a young fan.
Mata was filmed running towards a young boy in a wheelchair, and the Spanish international hung around for several minutes with the lad and his dad in what was obviously a special moment for them.
The BBC have since spoken to the dad to get his version of what happened.

Jon Nield has revealed how Juan Mata kept the Man United bus waiting as he stopped to meet his boy.
Jon said he and son Alex, who has cerebral palsy, were waiting outside Old Trafford to get a glimpse of the players, when Juan “clocked Alex straight away and came over”.
In a brilliant conclusion, it was also reported that Mata arranged tickets for Jon and Alex to attend a game the next day. Jon said:
[Alex is] absolutely made up. He probably thinks he’s best mates with him! He was so, so happy, you could see the delight in his face.
