Leeds captain Liam Bridcutt will play no part in the home game against Barnsley after being ruled out for up to eight weeks.

Bridcutt, who has missed the last four games, had a second scan on his injured foot which has revealed a fractured metatarsal.

Fellow midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is expected to recover from a knee injury, which has kept him out of the last two matches, while centre-half Pontus Jansson is hoping to shake off a hamstring strain sustained in the midweek defeat at Bristol City.

Defender Gaetano Berardi is close to returning to contention for his first appearance since the opening day of the season following a calf injury.

Barnlsey defender Aidy White is hoping to prove his fitness in time to face his former club.

White has missed the last two matches due to a gluteal problem and will be assessed by head coach Paul Heckingbottom.

Cole Kpekawa is expected to resume at left-back if White fails to make it, while Heckingbottom has no new injury or suspension worries.

Saidy Janko is still sidelined with a thigh strain and fellow winger Ryan Williams is continuing his rehabilitation following a long-term groin injury.
