Besiktas JK vs Dynamo Kyiv - Gunes: Dynamo Kiev are "no ordinary side"

Besiktas coach Senol Gunes has warned his players that Dynamo Kiev are "no ordinary side".

Gunes is expecting a tough game as Besiktas prepare to host their first UEFA Champions League group stage home match since 2009.

The Black Eagles began their Group B campaign with a creditable 1-1 draw away at Benfica on match day one and Gunes is hoping his team can build on that point on Wednesday night.

"Our opponents are a good side," he said at his pre-match press conference. They are good on the break and disciplined, they help each other out on the pitch and run very hard.

"They have talented players as well - [Andriy] Yarmolenko and Junior Moraes up front, and midfielders who can play at both ends, like [Serhiy] Rybalka and [Denys] Garmash.

"They are no ordinary side; they are modest and hard-working. We will need to be sharp and break fast. We will have to be patient and stay calm, covering a lot of ground but without losing control of the game."

Besiktas have kept just one clean sheet in six games this season and Dynamo coach Serhiy Rebrov, the former Tottenham and Fenerbahce forward, is looking for his side to try to exploit that.

"Besiktas are well-balanced team: they are champions of Turkey which speaks for itself," said Rebrov, whose team began the competition with a 2-1 home loss to Napoli.

"They score a lot of goals and concede a fair few, too. It's important that my players loosen up and play their football. It's obviously important to get the points as well - any positive result will do.

"We know how hard it is to play in Istanbul. I played there and I remember that Turkey is a proper football country, where people are really passionate about their favourite teams. I always love returning to this beautiful city."

Rebrov is hopeful that Yarmolenko will shake off back problem and play in the game.
