Monchengladbach 2 - 0 FC Ingolstadt 04: Monchengladbach into top four with Ingolstadt win
Posted Sunday, September 25, 2016 by PA
Borussia Monchengladbach warmed up for their Champions League meeting against Barcelona on Wednesday with a 2-0 win over Ingolstadt, a result that lifts them up to fourth in the Bundesliga.
Lars Stindl put Gladbach in front three minutes before half-time, stroking a low shot into the bottom corner after Marvin Matip's clearance fell at his feet.
Oscar Wendt then added the second, latching onto Mahmoud Dahoud's defence-splitting diagonal ball before beating Orjan Nyland with a low shot.
Gladbach could have won more convincingly but twice hit the woodwork, first through Stindl from near the corner flag when Nyland was out of his goal, and then through Julian Korb.
