Darmstadt 1 - 0 Eintracht Frankfurt: Darmstadt steal last-gasp winner
Posted Saturday, September 10, 2016 by PA
Darmstadt snatched a last-gasp 1-0 derby win over Eintracht Frankfurt in a game which was overshadowed by clashes involving fans in the stands at the Bollenfalltor.
Sandro Sirigu scored the only goal of the game in the last minute to give Darmstadt the local bragging rights for the remainder of 2016, with his attempted cross turning into a fortunate shot which beat Lukas Hradecky on its way into the far corner.
Police had to move in to calm rival fans who were throwing missiles at each other in the stands, but the game was played to a conclusion with Darmstadt picking up their first win of the season and moving level on points with their local rivals, who will be kicking themselves for wasting their best chances in the first 45 minutes.
