Bordeaux 1 - 0 Nantes: Diego Rolan strike enough for Bordeaux
Posted Sunday, August 28, 2016 by PA
Diego Rolan's first-half strike was enough to hand Bordeaux victory over Nantes as they eased their way up the Ligue 1 table.
The Uruguayan's 31st-minute close-range finish from Jeremy Menez's cross proved decisive on an afternoon when both goalkeepers were busy.
Menez had earlier forced two saves from Nantes stopper Remy Riou and midfielder Malcom also tested Riou twice in a lively start to the second half.
However, Bordeaux did not have things all their own way as the visitors fought for a share of the spoils with substitute Yacine Bammou and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson both bringing saves from Cedric Carrasso as time ran down.
