Tottenham line up Isco loan after Real Madrid block James Rodriguez sale

Isco looks to be the odd man out in Real Madrid's crowded midfield
Tottenham are set to sign Real Madrid star Isco on a seasonlong loan, with an option for a permanent deal next summer, according to the Sunday Mirror. Although the Spanish international has attracted interest from Chelsea, it's Spurs -- who can offer Champions League football -- are favourites to secure the 24-year-old's services.
The report suggests that the former Malaga playmaker has been made available for transfer after Real president Florentino Perez blocked attempts to sign James Rodriguez, who has been the subject of interest from Chelsea and Juventus. An initial loan deal for Isco is likely to suit Tottenham, whose bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha was knocked back last week.
