Eintracht Frankfurt 1 - 0 Schalke 04: Alexander Meier nets early winner as Eintracht Frankfurt see off Schalke

Eintracht Frankfurt ensured a disappointing Bundesliga debut for new Schalke coach Markus Weinzierl with a 1-0 win over Royal Blues - despite finishing the game with 10 men and missing a penalty.
After going close several times in the first 10 minutes, Frankfurt took the lead 12 minutes in when Alexander Meier swept the ball in left-footed from level with the penalty spot.
Meier should have made it 2-0 midway through the second half but saw his penalty saved by Ralf Fahrmann after Mijat Gacinovic went to ground under the challenge of Junior Caicara.
Frankfurt were reduced to 10 men when their on-loan Chelsea defender Michael Hector was dismissed on his Bundesliga debut for a foul as last man just outside the penalty area.
The Eagles held firm through the final 10 minutes, though, to take all three points.
