Paul Pogba's return to to Old Trafford seems to be settled down after several weeks' speculation. According to the reports, this Juventus midfielder looks set to complete a move with over £100million transfer fee, which will make him the most expensive footballer throughout history, even more than Gareth Bale's £86m.
Mourinho's Manchester United are getting close to complete their transfer objects this summer, and how about their city rivals - Manchester City? Today we will get into the transfer news and rumours of the Blue Moon, which is taken in charge by Pep Guardiola.
Done Deals
Ilkay Gundogan - Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has signed a 4-year deal with Manchester City. City complete the deal by paying around £23 million for the 25-year-old, after beating off interest from Juventus and Barcelona.
Nolito - The Spain International's full name is Manuel Agudo Duran. Manchester City also finalize a 4-year contract with Nolito from Celta Vigo by triggering £15.3 million. In the upcoming season, the 29-year-old forward will reunite with his old Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
Oleksandr Zinchenko - This 19-year-old Ukrainian midfielder has attracted a string of bids reportedly after his impressed performances at Euro 2016. However, Guardiola's club have won the race finally.
Rumours
With such big names as above, Pep Guardiola's summer revamp haven't finished yet as Jose Mourinho's United are still looking for their target.
Recently, Manchester City are in talk with Everton about the transfer of John Stones. Earlier this month, City have placed the 22-year-old at the top of their wanted list and are prepared to meet Toffee's £50 million valuation, meaning he will become the most expensive English defender in history if he makes the switch to the Etihad Stadium, Telegraph reported. The 22-year-old was the subject of three transfer bids by Chelsea in last season's summer transfer window, but all of them were turned down by Everton. In case of being denied by Everton, City also prepared another plan towards Juventus center half back Leonardo Bonucci.
However, Stones might be the optimal person according to Guardiola, who appreciates this defender very much. The Spaniard noted that Stones is the right person with solid defensive performance and good skills.
Compared with Man United's, Man City's signings might not be good enough so they might turn to Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. According to SNTV, when Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel was asked on whether if he is confident in keeping this player on July 27th, he said, "Yes, I am totally confident. We have a long-term contract. (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang is our main, main player, very, very, very important, outstanding, goalscorer, striker and huge personality for us. So right now I would say he stays."
Moreover, City boss Pep Guardiola also wants Schalke’s Germany winger Leroy Sane, 20, for £35m, according to Daily Star.
Anyway, after weeks of back and forth, the biggest transfer story in this summer looks to draw a conclusion finally.
